Seeking Recycling technologies for biodegradable films |
| |
We are looking for solutions to convert bio-based packaging back to starting materials or other high-value added chemicals (no fuels). |
Seeking Glue-free and Plastic-free closure of paper packaging |
| |
We are looking for a technology to seal paper packaging materials (paper only with no plastic coating) without using traditional glues or any other additive. For a sustainable packaging application, we're looking for a technology to seal or crimp kraft paper without using glue or plastic coating applied on the paper. Ideally, we want to seal 100% untreated paper without adding any other chemicals. Our preferred solution would be a folding of the packaging material |
Seeking existing market solutions targeted towards crawling insects |
| |
The issue of crawling insects in homes has been an ongoing issue. The popular types of crawling insects causing problems have been ants and cockroaches. The search will focus on existing market solutions targeted towards crawling insects such as ants and cockroaches (other types of crawling insects are in scope i.e., bed bugs). |
Wind flow Interface concentrator for VAWT |
| |
The researchers of the University have developed a wind flow concentrator incorporated into a Vertical Axe Wind (VAWT), which allows a significant increase in wind speed before being injected to the turbine. The system allows the optimization of the currents with independence of its direction and it is applicable to any type of VAWT. It is suitable for any type of building. |
Soy-Based Epoxy Alternatives to BPA and Similar (Hazardous) Industrial Feedstocks |
| |
Airable is developing a series of bio-based epoxy alternatives to hazardous industrial feedstocks, such as bisphenol-A (BPA), whose pervasiveness raises health concerns. Airable’s innovative bio-based chemicals are derived from soybean oil and use polyketonate functionality to grant reactivity similar to traditional aliphatic epoxies. Our environmentally friendly products may be formulated into adhesives, coatings, and composites for industrial and consumer applications. |
Soy-PK: Bio-Based Alternative to Epoxy Resins |
| |
The Soy-PK reactive oligomer cross-linker resin (Soy-PK) offers a practical, cost-effective drop-in replacement for epoxy resins containing bisphenol-A (BPA). Such resins are widely used in coatings, especially in metal beverage and food container coatings that present serious mutagenicity and health concerns. The new technology offers a viable option to displace fossil-based BPA-containing epoxy resins with a renewable source raw material, improving the industry’s environmental footprint. |
